My first yoga experience was in 1997, while working in a health club during high school. Two years later, I started teaching Hatha yoga in 1999, studying under my yoga professor, RaeAnn Busch, for three years at The State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton. I learned all of the traditional Hatha yoga poses to harmonize the body from imbalances, and to correct specific ailments.
Furthering my education of the human body, my collegiate studies encompassed Anatomy, Human Biology and Physiology, and Psychopharmacology, before graduating with a B.S in Psychobiology at Binghamton University in 2002. My passion for yoga propelled me to learn its other varieties, like Iyengar, and to complete a Vinyasa styled teacher training - incorporating flow, sequencing, and assists into the mix. After becoming a licensed massage therapist, and learning Thai Massage, Ashiatsu, Reikei, and energy healing, my signature program was holistically created to be uniquie and customizable for everyone. Additionally, my passion with other types of fitness activities also inspired a practice of gymnastics, ballet, swimming, kickboxing, and weight lifting.
Infused with this array of knowledge, my innovative teaching style incorporates a wide-range of different yoga styles, proper alignment tools, deeply healing pathways , body weight distribution techniques, and balancing mechanics. By utilizing the mind/body breath connection, you will learn how to transform your body safely, adding strength and endurance, in a nurturing and supportive environment. When needed, the elements of assisted stretching, therapeutic massage, and meditation, add a calmer, relaxing, and more restorative dynamic to my vigorous program.
Ultimately, its through this formula that allows all my clients to synchronously obtain optimal health, awareness, and balance to awaken the mind, restore the body, and transcend the spirit!
